Hungry For More!

Done reading Hunger Games. Now, I want more!

*spoiler alert*

I was right when I said from my previous blog that this book is a bit dark for kids. Not only because the contestants are young but because there were really gruesome killings. Violence is very much present in this book.

Let me say something about the protagonist of the book, 16 year-old Katniss Everdeen, the girl from District 12. She saved her sister from getting in the game and instead volunteered herself. I was really amazed by her intelligence, braveness and wit.  Whenever she goes to do something, she really takes time to think and weigh things over. She has this strong personality which lead her to win the game with Peeta Mellark.

Peeta Mellark is the boy counterpart of Katniss from District 12. So there, yeah, there's romance developed inside the arena where all of the 24 contestants should kill each other. Come to think of that. Intriguing, huh? But it really went well with the story. Some romance would really spice up a game like this.

The whole time that they were on the arena, there wasn't a dull moment for me. There's drama, romance, suspense and of course, action. Even though sometimes there's no interaction among the characters, Katniss' mind is enough interesting to explore.

From the get go, Hunger Games only allow one person to win the game. But then the rules changed, a pair can win as long as they're from the same district.

I cannot argue the fact that Katniss and Peeta won. I guess they really outsmarted the others, Thanks to their crew especially Haymitch - District Twelve's mentor. And thanks to Katniss' bow and arrow too. I just hope to see more action from Peeta for the next book :)

Inside the arena, Katniss and Peeta became lovers. But that's because Katniss thought it was all for a show. When they finally arrived home, Peeta found out that Katniss was just playing along with him. That's when he got hurt. This is the major cliffhanger of the book.

Will they stay as lovers? friends? enemies? Who knows when Katniss will finally be with her mother, sister Prim and Gale - Katniss' boy bestfriend.

I guess Book 2 - Catching Fire, will show more of Gale's character and I can see a love triangle coming! Can't wait to read Catching Fire!

I AM TOTALLY HUNGRY FOR MORE!!!
